Please bring native Visual Studio Code support to iPadOS.
<!-- ⚠️⚠️ Do Not Delete This! feature_request_template ⚠️⚠️ --> <!-- Please read our Rules of Conduct: https://opensource.microsoft.com/codeofconduct/ --> <!-- Please search existing issues to avoid creating duplicates. --> <!-- Describe the feature you'd like. --> Hello VS Code Team, I'm a student, and I recently bought an iPad primarily for my studies and coding work. One of the key tools I use for coding is Visual Studio Code, and I was genuinely disappointed to discover that there's no native version of VS Code available for iPadOS. iPads today — especially with Apple Silicon (like M1, M2, and M3 chips) and support for external keyboards and displays — are more than capable of handling full development environments. A native VS Code app for iPadOS would help students like me use one device for both study and coding, reducing the need to buy an additional Mac or Windows PC just to run VS Code. I understand that there’s (https://vscode.dev/), but it's limited in functionality (especially without terminal or full file system access). Cloud solutions like GitHub Codespaces are helpful, but not always ideal or affordable for everyone. Please consider developing a native iPadOS version of VS Code. It would be incredibly valuable to students, developers, and professionals who want to code more flexibly on the go. Thank you for the amazing work on VS Code so far. It's an incredible tool that has transformed how we code.
