[TF2] Feature request: Bring Back Quickplay
ps. casual "matchmaking" is not even a proper matchmaking because matches can start before everyone connects and everyone can switch class, weapon, leave, join in the middle of the match. Dear Team Fortress 2 Development Team at Valve, For almost ten years, Team Fortress 2 has been a prime example of community-focused multiplayer gaming. It wasn't just about the hats or gameplay; it was the "drop-in, drop-out" approach that made the game feel welcoming and vibrant. However, with the "Meet Your Match" update replacing the Quickplay system with mandatory Matchmaking, the core experience of TF2 has been disrupted. We urge you to reconsider this change and restore the features that allowed TF2 to thrive as a social environment. 1. Loss of Server Continuity In the original system, servers were consistent spaces where players could stay through map rotations, fostering balanced team dynamics without breaking up groups. The current Matchmaking system treats each round as a separate event, forcing players back to the main menu after every match(people always leave on mapvote because no one wants to wait 15s+mapload+60s warmup). This has weakened the social connections in the game, making it harder to build friendships and diminishing the sense of belonging to a continuous community, replacing it with a more disposable experience. 2. Inefficiency of the "Lobby" Model TF2 shines when players can join easily. Back in 2014, a player could join a friend's game with just one click. Now
