Practical Common Lisp gets you up to speed very fast. I wish there was something similar for scheme. Most scheme books focus on teaching you compsci with the language and not on teaching you how to build practical things with it. It's quite hard to onboard someone to a scheme codebase, despite scheme's reputation of being a simple language.
