<!-- BEFORE SUBMITTING AN ISSUE: 1. Search for your issue on GitHub: https://github.com/prettier/prettier/issues A large number of opened issues are duplicates of existing issues. If someone has already opened an issue for what you are experiencing, you do not need to open a new issue — please add a 👍 reaction to the existing issue instead. 2. Press the "Report issue" button in the lower right --> Update: I have change my opinion on this, and I don't think I require this any more. If this is ever implemented I would probably use it, but I really don't mind this behavior at all. If you want to read more, I wrote a post in [dev.to](https://dev.to/michaeljota/i-changed-my-opinion-about-prettier-not-formatting-void-elements-as-is-and-this-is-why-50hk) --- Original post: **Prettier 1.14.3** [Playground link](https://deploy-preview-5168--prettier.netlify.com/playground/#N4Igxg9gdgLgprEAuEAeAllADgVxgAhgE8s4BeAHRACM8ZoqA+EAGhAixnWgGdlQAhgCchEAO4AFYQj4oBANwjoAJqxpCBYANZwYAZSybMAc2QwhOOGwAWMALYAbAOrX08HobBw9Mt+nluRMjgPHxsmDxwQjASGsZ2AsgAZgIOkWwAVjwAHgBCGtq6egJ2cAAymHDJqekghkKRQsG2jm
