simd/archsimd: architecture-specific SIMD intrinsics under a GOEXPERIMENT
Update (06/23/2026): Go 1.27 RC1 is released, which includes the experimental support of the portable size-agnostic simd package (https://github.com/golang/go/issues/78902), an update of the archisimd API for AMD64, and the inclusion of archsimd support for Wasm and ARM64, all under `GOEXPERIMENT=simd`. There are some breaking API changes for AMD64 archisimd API; please update the code accordingly. See https://github.com/golang/go/issues/73787#issuecomment-4780641599 . --- Update (02/11/2026): The AMD64 low-level SIMD package is now available in Go 1.26 under `GOEXPERIMENT=simd`. There were minor bug fixes since the RC2. We'll continue the development for Go 1.27 on the `dev.simd` branch. See https://github.com/golang/go/issues/73787#issuecomment-3885173105 . --- Update (01/15/2026): The AMD64 low-level SIMD package is now available in Go 1.26 RC2 under `GOEXPERIMENT=simd`. The RC2 includes a few bug fixes, some of which involve API changes from the RC1. See https://github.com/golang/go/issues/73787#issuecomment-3757458447 . --- Update (12/16/2025): The AMD64 low-level SIMD package is now available in Go 1.26 RC1 under `GOEXPERIMENT=simd`. Also, the package is renamed to `simd/archsimd`, per #76473,. See https://github.com/golang/go/issues/73787#issuecomment-3662797649 . --- Update (08/20/2025): A preliminary implementation of AMD64 low-level SIMD package is being developed on the dev.simd branch. You're welcome to check it out and try it with your use cases. Feedback
